Our Automotive Repair Services
Nobody likes driving a vehicle with visible dents, scratches, or damage to the bodywork. At Bakers Body Shop, we work hard to make sure that you drive away in a car that’s both cosmetically repaired and completely safe to drive. Here’s how:
Auto Damage Estimates
Customers sometimes think that the term estimate means a total cost of repairs. However for collision repair, the term estimate means a preliminary estimate of cost, based on a visual inspection of damage. The trouble with that is, only the damage that is visible can be written into an estimate by law. Without a complete disassembly of the damaged area, a total cost of repairs cannot be given.
Insurance companies know that estimates are given based on visual inspections and also know that once disassembly takes place there is a chance that unseen damage will be discovered and amended to the estimate. This is not the collision repair facility nickel-and-diming the consumer; this is how the collision repair industry operates as a whole due to laws and regulations specific to the industry. In fact, it is ILLEGAL for a collision repair facility to write an estimate and include possible damages that cannot be seen.
OEM Procedure Lookup
Following the OEM procedures is the best way to achieve complete, safe, quality repairs. This could include vehicle specific repair information, or general vehicle maker information. Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) – ADAS are electrical computerized systems designed to provide a driver with a safer, more comfortable, and more convenient ride. All of these systems use a complex variety of sensors and firmware – and each OEM has their own procedures for handling the repairs. Therefore, it is extremely important to read and follow OEM procedures.
Pre- and Post-Scanning
A pre-scan happens before repairs start and searches for all fault codes to look for issues with the system components that might have been damaged in the accident, or might need to be “flashed” or re-calibrated.
Post- Repair scans happen once the vehicle is fully repaired and are performed to ensure that all codes have been identified and cleared if needed. Most collision repair shops do not even look unless there is a code showing on the dash and this can compromise you and your families’ safety as the systems will not work as expected. Here at Baker’s Body Shop we scan all vehicles that are up to 10 years old.
Auto Frame Straightening
Even a relatively minor accident can bend the frame of your car. Without repair, this can cause serious changes to your car’s handling characteristics, as well as weakening the frame to the extent that it wouldn’t be able to protect you in case of a second collision. At Baker’s Body Shop, we use specialized tools and equipment to detect and repair damage to the frame of your car – even damage that might not be apparent to the naked eye.
Expert Color Matching
Here at Bakers Body Shop we have years of first-hand experience matching automotive colors. In addition to our experience, we have the Rapid Match X5 that will take five different scans of the paint that is currently on your vehicle and give us the closest mixing formula that will match you vehicles paint.
